The first profession and renewal of vows

“A person who says “Yes” to the will of God will never experience abandonment from the Lord”
Walking together in the footsteps of the Lord is a sacred gift to be cherished above all treasure. Though time passes so fast in formation, there are countless memories to value and hold in our hearts. Our first profession is not our final memory but is, perhaps, the most profound so far in our formation. On the evening of April 30, 2014 we received the habit of the Society, the cincture and the constitution in a ceremony officiated by Rev. Fr. Adam Janus, SDS the vicariate superior. And on May 1, 2014 at 10: 30 am, the Society of the Divine Savior accepted its ten newly professed members as well as received those men renewing their vows. Again officiated by Rev. Fr. Adam and concelebrated by the other Salvatorian priests from Vietnam, China and Philippines. The ceremonies were held at Mater Salvatoris House in New Manila.

We are deeply moved by the many relatives and friends present to witness this occasion, toward which we have worked so hard. It is evident to each of us that these ceremonies embodied the spirit of gratitude, unity of vocation and the true essence of brotherhood we having been striving to realize. And we give vast and joyful thanks to all who have walked with us on our journey in the footsteps of the Lord. Their prayers and support were invaluable as we navigated the challenges and graces’ of religious life.
Before Jesus began his public ministry he called his apostles to be with him and then, by His death and resurrection he missioned them out to every corner of the world to build the kingdom of God. As we launch into the next stage of our journey we will continue to work to widen and deepen our understanding of how to make Jesus known and build His kingdom by all ways and means wherever we are called to do so.
The Lord has truly shown His goodness, faithfulness and providence by calling us to this holy vocation. Now that we have committed ourselves to Him, the Society, its mission, may he continue to guide us to live ours vows faithfully with joyful heart and a loving spirit.
